Social Skills Training
Social skills training is an important part of the programming for any child or adult with disabilities. Good social skills help the client become fully integrated into their home, school, and community. Social skills training may improve:
- Peer to Peer Communication
- Family, friend, and community relationships
- Awareness of social boundaries
Pine Cone Therapies offers individual and group social skills training in the clinic and in the community. During the summertime, Social Skills Camp is an opportunity for short-term but intensive training for all ages. Social skills training is available at our Southlake, Keller, and Missouri City location.
Social Skills Targets
- Conversational skills
- Asking for information, giving information
- Understanding body language & using appropriate body language
- Asking for help, requesting clarification
- Improving listening and attention
- Apologizing, sharing, and asking for permission
- Maintaining positive social interactions and relationships
- Self-control during feelings of anger or frustration
- Problem solving and being a good sport and a good friend
