Top-Notch Speech-Language Therapy Services
Pine Cone Therapies offers speech and language therapy for a broad scope of disorders. Our speech therapy may be in one-to-one and small group sessions. All speech services are based on formal and informal assessment and close input from clients and parents. Data collection is taken each session and reviewed monthly with the client and/or parent.
Our speech-language pathologists hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and are licensed by the State of Texas. The Speech Therapy Assistants (STA) are licensed to practice under the supervision of the SLP.
Speech therapy sessions are typically 30 minutes in duration and recommended two to three times a week. Duration of treatment depends on the severity of the disorder, the age of the client, and associated physical, emotional, and social factors.
Assessment is designed to identify disorders in these areas:
- Oral-motor
- Articulation
- Voice
- Fluency
- Social language
- Receptive and expressive language
- Pragmatic language
- Auditory processing
- Hearing

Speech-Language Assessment
The first step to effective speech-language pathology intervention is an individual, in-depth assessment of speech and cognitive-linguistic skills. The speech and language assessment is conducted by the certified speech-language pathologist. Assessment procedures are chosen based on an individual’s age and the nature of their disorder. Assessment includes a comprehensive parent or client interview to review birth, developmental, and medical history and is followed by clinical observations, using standardized and non-standardized evaluation tools. Assessments are usually completed in a 1 to 4 hour span of time. Upon completion of testing, a diagnosis is formulated and a comprehensive report is written. The results of the assessment are discussed with the patient and/or parent and their referring physician. The patient and the therapist collaborate to develop an Individualized Plan of Care.
Pediatric Speech-Language Therapy
The goal of pediatric and school-age speech therapy is to provide children with oral, written, and functional skills to express wants, needs, and thoughts, and to gain academic accomplishment. With very young children, therapy may consist of parent training and language stimulation activities to enable and support child development.
Our speech therapy services address behaviors and other issues that may interfere with the learning process; thus this therapy helps maximize therapy benefits for each child. Through extensive experience and training, our speech and language pathology team also understands how to provide treatment for children with autism spectrum disorders and their unique difficulties.
